MOMS I HEART: LIZ EICHHOLZ

MusingsLauren Phelps

I am proud to bring you a new edition of MOMS I HEART: highlighting the inspiring moms in my life.

For this edition, I am joined by Liz Eichholz, co-founder of Weezie Towels.

Founded in 2018 by best friends Liz Eichholz and Lindsey Johnson, Weezie was born from a mission to rescue shoppers from the "towel-buying abyss" with a simplified, high-quality collection. After a year of research, they partnered with a family-owned factory in Portugal to create their signature fluffy, 100% organic cotton weave that stays soft wash after wash. Today, the brand is a favorite for home lovers, blending spa-level luxury with modern, customizable embroidery that makes everyday self-care feel extra special.

Enter our GIVEAWAY (running through Sunday, April 24, 2026) to win the Grace Iconic Moms print in an exclusive size, and Weezie’s signature lightweight robe.

WHO OR WHAT MADE YOU A MOM?

My oldest daughter, Tempe, made me a mom almost 9 years ago! Weezie came just a few months later, and I’m so grateful I never knew Weezie without kids. It’s been a blessing in disguise to always have that ultimate priority and perspective alongside building a business. My girls have kept me grounded from day one and constantly remind me what actually matters.

A RECENT BIG LITTLE MOMENT…

I now have three girls (Tempe, 8; Eadie, 5; and Annie Rowe, 3), and we’ve started doing individual “dates” with each of them! They absolutely light up from the one-on-one attention—it fills their cup in the sweetest way. Each one gets to pick what we do, they get dressed up, and we’ve had the best time!

It’s surreal as they get older… you realize you’re hanging out with these little people you created. They’re so fun, so funny, and growing up right in front of me. My youngest is almost out of nighttime pull-ups, and I’m fully in denial that we’re nearing the end of the baby phase. But this next phase is just as special.

Moments like these always stop me in my tracks—it’s such a privilege to be their mom and really all I ever wanted!

DAILY RITUAL?

Reading in bed before I go to sleep is my reset. No screens, no scrolling—just a book to quiet my mind at the end of the day (just finished Strangers which I could not put down). I’m always in my comfiest Weezie robe (currently obsessed with our new leopard robe), and I’ll usually light a candle too. Lately, I’ve been loving this one from Flamingo Estate. It’s such a small ritual, but it makes a big difference.

THE ADVICE YOU DIDN’T TAKE

So many people told us that Weezie was a bad idea… and obviously we did not listen! ;)

Not everyone is going to “get” your idea, especially in the beginning. For me, Weezie came from a very personal experience—I was registering for towels when I was getting married and felt like they were such an afterthought to bedding. There was no go-to towel brand that made luxury towels feel thoughtful, special, or even enjoyable to shop for. I knew if a company like Weezie existed, I would have been excited to discover it.

I think both in entrepreneurship and in parenting, you have to learn to trust your gut. When I think about parenting my first baby versus my third, I can't help but laugh! We were so worried we were doing everything wrong. Now, there’s a sense of calm that comes from experience and trusting ourselves.

I do wish I had listened more when people said not to overthink everything, to worry less about what the books say or sticking perfectly to a schedule. You figure it out as you go.

THE ADVICE YOU NOW GIVE

For parenting: to build in a date night or break that is part of your routine!

We have a standing date night almost every Thursday. Our girls know to expect it, and we genuinely look forward to it. Sometimes we’re reviewing calendars and logistics, and sometimes we’re just having fun, but either way, it's a highlight of my week.

I also think it’s important for your kids to see you enjoying your life, your relationship, and taking time for yourself! I will never forget advice I heard (I can't remember where) that the best way to grow closer to your kids as they get older is to have your own life you can share with them. I think this is probably more pertinent as they leave the house but I think it's still important now for them to see us enjoying our own lives beyond just parenting!

YOUR WISH FOR EVERY MOM

To feel seen and appreciated.

Motherhood is incredibly rewarding and fun, but it’s also demanding in ways that aren’t always visible. Everyone feels appreciated differently, so being able to communicate what that looks like for you is so important.

Whether it’s a new Weezie robe (obsessed with our new coral light weight robe!) or a solo night in a hotel, don’t be afraid to say exactly how you want to be celebrated this Mother’s Day!
